Attack the Block

This one moves to the top of my “to see”  list, but will demand another trip downtown, since it is only playing in one theatre in spite of excellent reviews.

Talk about mixing genres, “Attack the Block” seems to be a mixture the The Outsiders and Alien.  Throw in a few musical numbers and it could be West Side Story meets Predator.

Street gangs meet an alien invasion, seems to be joining the party of kids and cowpokes.  The reviews have been excellent all around, -better than Cowboys and Aliens.  And yet it is playing in one theatre and is virtually unknown.  Par for the course.

Check out John Scalzi’s analysis of this unfairness at Why Attack the Block Isn’t a Blockbuster.
