What do we know about Rick Santorum?

Well, one thing that we know is that he is totally opposed to public education, calling it “government education”.  He has homeschooled his large brood of children.

However, he was not above enrolling his children in a program that provided them with free computers and Internet resources, which was funded by a Penn. school board to, for just his use, the tune of $100 000.  Interestingly, when all of this was happening, Santorum had, in fact, moved from Pennsylvania to a $1.3 million mansion in Virginia, thereby not even living in the school district that was forced to pay the bill for the education of his children.  In fact, it turns out that he doesn’t even live in the state that he represents in congress, owning a house in Pennsylvania but having had other family members move in.  Although he was asked to repay the money that was fraudulently taken from the school board, he has yet to do anything about it.

Rick Santorum has made it clear in his campaign that, if elected President, he would eliminate the Federal Department of Education.

Why are these right wing-nuts always anti-intellectual?  It’s like they want people to be more stupid.
